What’s going on?

‘Curing the Beast’ is a 3rd Community Art Showcase featuring a few visual concepts from the vast thought bank of artists like Japi Honoo (Italy), Caio Lazzuri (USA), Meredith (USA), Tushar Goyal (India), Arisu (Portugal), Alicja Pietras (Poland), Tomas Rucker (Czech Republic), Ashwin Baluja (India) and many more. Curated by Shaxeb S., this independent exhibition is an active indicator of art cutting across borders, rising above business sense, and personally inviting you to have a walk through. Besides mixed media canvases and postcard frames, you can also hear the sound of your expressions with a pretty little art and music box called the ‘XpresR’.

On Friday, the 8th of May, the ‘6-foot oscillator in a 4 feet room’ night will bring together the art with exclusive music performances by 3rd Community artists KarGo Pluggy, Sadahnmo and Khoparzi. They will attempt to take you into imaginative atmospheres with a broad bandwidth of experimental music. These electronic music performances will be backed by surreal sequences from films/animation and a visual representation of the performance title: 6 foot oscillator in a 4 feet room, using a holographic installation.

3rd Community is extremely proud at Hvoya’s debut release - Flower (i,absentee records, USA). Go get it!  We look forward to bring Hvoya Live to India this year.

AV MAX Feature Song (February Issue, 09)

3rd Community Music Artist Shantala records an unplugged jam of her song “Smoke” at the AV MAX testing studio. As mentioned in the feature, this is a DRY mix, hence it contains no effects and is not meant to sound like a professional recording. It is only to give a precise representation of the environment Shantala was recorded in.

 Expressway

“Expressway”, a compilation of abstract Indian electronic music released by Dudup Records released at the Serpentine Gallery, London. On the record are 3rd Thought’s mainstays, Kargo Pluggy, Sadahnmo, Algorythm and Venus Skytrap and the hosts of the release - dawood/deora.

 Synths of Yanihba

3rd Community visual artists Arisu and Japi Honoo are exhibiting at the Religious Iconography exhibition. The show is now open at Femina Potens, San Francisco.

Welcoming on board of 3rd Community -the colorful and child-like extravagance of Claudio Parentela from Italy. Collages, paintings, drawings all sourcing from dreams, or so it seems - Claudio for you!  

The production of Dispersed Diaries of Adityavikram Gupta comes to a close. Seems quite unfortunate considering the amount of experimental elation and learning it brought us, not to forget, the exotic set of artists we got to closely work with. Now, we begin the war to conquer every book store this world has.  

We are extremely proud to put up 3rd Community’s Artist Mishana Khot’s first short story from her debut yet untitled book. Hear’s Frida!

Pause for Inanimation nears end of production. This debut 3rd Thought Independent Movies production put together by director Karan Gour and Abhinay Khoparzi is slated to finish production in 2008.

Making of The Mirror of Society, a social experiment by Shaxeb S. will be open to public viewing in November 2008. The accompanying music video capturing the circus of modern-day society will follow right after. Watch this space.

We are absolutely honored to have the warm surrealist thinker Japi Honoo on the 3rd Community. The greatest of poets will find it difficult to describe Japi’s work so we simply leave it to your eyes.

It seems like nature has with open arms welcomed Dennis aka Detail24 to capture her prime through seasons. And so has Croatia and Germany! The absolutely natural landscape specialist from Germany is now a member on the 3rd Community.  

The Venus Skytrap and Arisu are participating in the ‘Robot Hive’ exhibition at Stained Skin, Portland, Ohio set to begin on June 7, 2008.
